Tivoli electric cellos and upright basses have been regularly praised as being
a significant step above previous electric instruments, consistently surprising
users with the warmth and depth of an acoustic instrument, in addition to the
advantages of amplification. The instruments are carefully set up to give
players a pleasurable natural playing experience. All instruments are
individually handcrafted in Sydney, Australia and are highly aesthetic.

Pickups
The Barbera multi-transducer bridges used in Tivoli electric cellos, upright
basses and violins contain two bi-morphed peizo transducers per string
integrated into a traditional maple bridge. The sound is of audiophile quality
with extraordinary clarity, texture, power and responsiveness is unsurpassed.
The pickups are generally regarded as the 'Porches of the pick-up world';
you'll be amazed at the authenticity available with pizzicato delivered with a
bloom on each note. When bowed gives an even and smooth sound without
the 'quack' typical of standard stick-on pick-ups. All Tivoli instruments can be
hooked up to a home hi-fi system, headphones, guitar effects processors,
amplifiers, p.a. systems, Midi computer programs, stage equipment, etc,
depending upon needs.

Feel
Standard dimensions and traditional acoustic instrument geometry are
retained including, neck lengths, string heights and spacing, although custom
instrument setups are available to allow a player to move from acoustic to
electric instrument without having to change playing position or style. Tivoli
electric instruments are made using traditional materials including rock
maple for the neck and first-grade ebony fingerboards. The necks of all Tivoli
instruments are carbon-fibre reinforced.

Silent Practice Mode
All Tivoli electric cellos and upright basses can be played as silent practice
instruments, a valuable feature for apartment dwellers and for those wanting
to practice late without disturbing family and neighbors. Using headphones
and a CD player, you can play along with your favourite band or orchestra
without a person in the next room hearing a sound.
